WINNIPEG — Three police officers in Manitoba have been charged with serious crimes in separate cases.
The province's police watchdog says an RCMP officer has been charged with sexual assault following an investigation by Winnipeg police.
The Independent Investigation Unit says Const. Peter Mangera is to appear in Winnipeg provincial court on Aug. 7.
In a separate case, the unit says a Mountie in Thompson has been charged with assault over an allegation last September.
Investigators say two officers responded to a call about an intoxicated woman and one of them punched a bystander several times in the face.
Const. Greg Oke is to appear in Thompson provincial court on Aug. 9.
The unit says a Winnipeg police service officer has been charged with assault causing bodily harm after a man suffered a fracture last June.
Const. Dustin Rodeck is to appear in Winnipeg provincial court on Aug. 7.
