Pharmasave statement as on March 19, 2020:
We are facing unprecedented challenges in the weeks and months ahead due to the exponential growth of the Coronavirus COVID-19 worldwide. The virus has been in Canada for several weeks now and any guess on when we might see a light at the end of the proverbial tunnel would be pure speculation at this time. Our hope is that it will only be a matter of weeks, however it may be several months.
We at Pharmasave Souris are committed to maintaining the highest level of customer and patient care at all times and, during this pandemic, this commitment remains steadfast. The nature of our business requires us, as part of our daily routines, to clean and disinfect all work surfaces and contact areas throughout the store. During this pandemic, we have reinforced with all staff the need to be diligent and ensure that we are pay extra attention to this very important task.
Regarding medications, we have had several patients calling somewhat anxious about their prescriptions and wondering if they should stock up on their meds. While we have always been happy to fill 90 days worth of medications, in order to minimize the dispensing fees our patients have to pay, we will do so only as required for the near future, based on the following memo from the Canadian Pharmacists Association:
To ensure that Canada’s medication supply is managed responsibly, we are recommending a 30-day supply of medications for patients, unless clinically justified. We are also calling on governments, private payers, public health officials, regulators and other health care practitioners to support this temporary change in dispensing practice and to encourage Canadians to refrain from purchasing large quantities of medical supplies.
Our store hours and delivery services will not change.
Monday – Friday 9:00 – 6:00 – Front store and dispensary
Saturday – 9:00 – 5:00 – Front store and 10:00 – 3:00 dispensary
We have free delivery for both dispensary and retail front store products in Souris and Hartney, as required.
Our staff is knowledgeable and practice infection prevention and control practices.
We wish everyone the best throughout these trying times. Stay tuned for further updates from Pharmasave Souris. Remember to get correct and current information from a reliable source: https://manitoba.ca/covid19/
