According to representatives from the Souris Glenwood Foundation the community’s response to the Endow Manitoba 24 Hour Giving Challenge was overwhelming. The received $18,686.20 in donations and that qualified them to receive both the matching grant from the Province of $2000.00 and the grant from the Winnipeg Foundation for $2000.00. In total the Souris Glenwood Foundation will receive $22,686.20.

“We were so happy to receive this amount of gifts,” explained Foundation volunteer Glenda McConnell. “It is higher than last year. This year we received 39 gifts and only five or six were online, the rest were made in person.”

The Foundation received a total of $13,755.00 including the two matching grants in 2018.

According to McConnell, the Foundation will be awarding their 2019 Grants in the amount of $13,750.00 on Sunday, December 15 during the Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra’s performance of “A Charlie Brown Christmas”  which is being held at the Souris Community Hall at 2:00 p.m.
