Blue Hills RCMP Report

The following is an RCMP Report from July 23rd-July 29th . The RCMP responded to the following Calls for service: 28 Traffic violations; 5 Provincial statutes (mental health, fire prevention, coroner’s and 911 act); 20 Common police activities (alarms, suspicious persons/vehicles, assistance to general public); 24 Crimes against property; 8 Crimes against persons; 8 Other criminal codes.

July 23

∙Police assistance was requested in 2 separate incidents to aid EMS with transporting patients to a medical centre.

∙Blue Hills RCMP were asked to assist in a well being check for another province in the RM of Elton.

∙Police issued a speeding warning to a driver in the RM of Elton.

∙A car was stolen over night from a residence in Souris. The vehicle was later found in another area, by another RCMP detachment.

∙The RCMP was dispatched to 2 Mental Health Act concerns.

July 24

∙Members responded to a Mental Health Act call.

∙A report was received from a concerned citizen, about a drivers wellbeing, in RM Souris-Glenwood.  The driver was swerving all over the road and then pulled off to the shoulder.

∙Police received 2 Break and Enter reports from the Town of Souris.  The RCMP are investigating both occurrences.

∙Blue Hills RCMP were notified of an almost accident. Police are investigating the situation.

∙Police were dispatched to the disturbing the peace call in the RM of ELTON.

July 25

∙The police conducted 2 wellbeing checks.  One was in Souris the other in Carberry.  In both instances all individuals were located safe and uninjured.

∙Threats were reported in Souris. Police were dispatched and they are investigating.

∙Police were notified of an over night car theft in Wawanesa.  They are investigating the matter.

∙Police in Killarney have recovered a stolen vehicle from Souris.  The owner has been contacted.

July 26

∙Blue Hills RCMP assisted another agency with a matter.

∙A motor cyclist was warned for reports of speeding through  the town in Souris.

∙Items that were in the back of a pick-up truck were reported stolen.  The driver left the vehicle for a moment, returned and the equipment in the back of the truck had gone missing.  Police are investigating.

∙Police were notified of an unauthorized loaded gun on a premises.  Upon investigation and property search no unauthorized or loaded weapons were located.

July 27

∙An individual was reported missing to the police.  The subject was found with assistance from the family, safe and uninjured.

∙The RCMP received a report of disturbing the peace in the Souris campground by teenagers.

∙An alarm was triggered in the RM of Whitehead.  Police and the owner attended.  Nothing was out of place and all buildings were still locked.

∙Police received a report of an erratic driver by a passing vehicle.  The passing vehicle followed the erratic driver, until the vehicle stopped and the driver exited.  The exiting driver was seen to be in medical distress.  EMS and police attended.  The driver was in diabetic shock and escorted to a near by hospital.

∙A stolen camper was dumped on a property in the RM of Whitehead.  Police are investigating the situation.

∙The Blue Hills RCMP was asked to conduct a wellbeing check on an individual in Glenboro.  The subject was located by police.

July 28

∙Another driver was charged for driving an unregistered vehicle in RM North Cypress- Langford.

July 29

∙The Blue Hills RCMP received a report of a Break and Enter in the RM of Grasslands.  Members are investigating.

∙A car was reported stolen from a residence in Souris.  The vehicle was later located in another detachment area, but RCMP.  The owner has been notified and 2 suspects have been arrested.

∙A theft was reported in Souris.  Police are investigating the matter.

∙The RCMP advised a caller about slander and peace bonds.

∙Hay bales in the RM of Souris-Glenwood were destroyed when pushed over.  Police are looking into the situation.

July 30

∙Blue Hills RCMP, were notified of a possible vehicle theft in the RM of Grasslands.  Police are looking into the situation.

∙The RCMP were dispatched to a vehicle collision on highway 1 near RM Elton.  Ems was also dispatched. 

∙A report of a dangerous driver was called into dispatch.  The vehicle was speeding and making donuts in the RM of Oakland- Wawanesa.  Members conducted patrols but were unable to locate the vehicle.

∙T he RCMP assisted with a civil issue in Souris.

July 31

∙Blue Hills RCMP received a report of a suspicious person in RM of Grasslands.  Members patrolled the area, but could not locate the person.

Aug 1st

∙Police assisted a Souris resident with a harassment complaint.

Aug 2

∙An individual was arrested in Elgin on pre existing charges.

∙The RCMP are investigating an allegation of abuse.

∙A suspicious person was reported to the RCMP, because they were walking on the number 2 highway in 30-degree heat, with a large bag and no water.  Police attended the area and located the traveler.  The individual was escorted to a location in Brandon.

Aug 4

∙The RCMP was dispatched to Glenboro for an individual who refused to leave a residence when requested to.

∙The Police responded to a possible abuse in RM of Oakland-Wawanesa.  The vehicle the individuals were in was located.  All parties were questioned, and no abuse was determined at this time.

∙The RCMP was dispatched to a disturbing the peace call in the RM of Cornwallis.

∙An abandoned vehicle was reported in RM Cornwallis.

∙Police responded to a fire in Carberry.  The situation is under investigation.

Aug 5

∙An erratic driver was reported to the RCMP on highway 1. 2 Dangerous drivers were also reported to the Police.  Both were on highway 10 at different periods in the day.  One vehicle could not be located.  The other was pulled over an warned for their driving.

∙The RCMP assisted with a traffic collision on highway 1 by the RM of Elton.  Alcohol was not a factor in the accident.

∙The RCMP responded to a trespass concern in Glenboro.

∙Blue Hills RCMP were dispatched to a Break and Enter in progress at a business in RM Glenboro- South Cypress.  When the RCMP arrived on scene the criminals were no longer in the area.  Patrols were made and surrounding RCMP were notified in a attempt to locate the criminals. Police are collecting all evidence of the break in to assist with the investigation.

∙The Blue Hills RCMP responded to an assault call in Glenboro. An individual was placed under arrest.

∙The Souris pool had a difficulty with 2 intoxicated individuals attempting to obtain entrance into the pool.  Police arrived at the scene and spoke to the intoxicated individuals, they were not allowed admittance into the pool and apologized to the pool staff.
