Ag Society receives major grant

Souris Glenwood Agricultural Society was one of the luck recipients of a Building Sustainable Communities Grant that was announced last week. The Ag Society was awarded $30,000. towards the Fairgrounds updates.

“We were excited to hear that our application this past May was approved for funding from the Building Sustainable Communities Program,” commented Jessie Goodwill who has been a long time member of the Ag Society. “The funding will go towards upgrading two facilities at the fairground. The first upgrade is replacing the north/east fence and the alley of the riding arena, which was completed this past summer. The second upgrade (currently in process) is to build the men and women washrooms, and two showers. These upgrades were made possible by various donations and grants including the Building Sustainable Communities Program, and in-kind labour and equipment from the volunteers.”
