The Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre and Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries will present THE NEW CANADIAN CURLING CLUB as this year’s Regional Tour. This heart-warming comedy, directed by Miles Potter, travels to 24 communities across Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario this winter, and will be in Souris on Thursday, January 23, 2020.

The town is so small it only has one Tim Hortons; but community-minded Marlene is determined to “diversify” the curling club. She enlists four newcomers to learn the game, but when she breaks her hip, it’s up to her politically incorrect ex-husband Stuart to step in. Things start off badly and get worse. Stuart doesn’t think the new Canadians can hack it and they have bigger worries than mastering this bizarre sport. With team unity on the rocks, time is running out. Will they be able to sweep aside their problems to compete in the Highlander Cup Bonspiel? Hurry hard to the theatre to find out!

THE NEW CANADIAN CURLING CLUB stars Doug McKeag as Stuart MacPhail, Lorraine James as Charmaine Bailey, Omar Alex Khan as Anoopjeet Singh, Zhaopeng Meng as Mike Chang, Sophie Smith-Dostmohamed as Fatima Al-Sayed.

The creative team features: Director Miles Potter, Set and Lighting Designer Steve Lucas, Costume Designer Maureen Petkau, Sound Design Verne Good, Apprentice Set Designer Kara Pankiw. Stage Manager Kathryn Ball, Assistant Stage Manager Melissa Renaud, Technical Director Ian Kirk and Technician Brian Britton.
