Cribbage players occupied seven tables on Wednesday, November 21, and the ladies decided it was their night to win. Joan Phillips and Betty Devins finished the evening with the best score. Evelyn Harlton and Deb Robinson again won second place and Evelyn Bowles with Margaret Edmunds claimed third spot. Joan Dufily held the lucky number for the 50-50 draw.
A small group of 17 came out to play bingo on Thursday, November 22, and we had quite a few multiple winners. Loudest in the room was Marie Neilson with four yells. Close behind her with three shouts were Barb Gordon and Marge Rose. Making two hollers were Lil Atchison, Cindy Janz, Doreen Edgars, Darlene Dooley and Gale Collinson. Gale made her last call on the Little House to get $26.
Our meat draw on Friday, November 23, was very well attended and Lady Luck did not favour many. Only the household of Cindy and Bill Scott was able to take home two packages of meat. The 50-50 draw amounted to $199 and Lorie Howe was the lucky winner. Todd Carlisle had the opportunity to find the Ace of Spades and receive $4,570. However, the Ace refused to cooperate and someone will have a chance at a little more money next week. A roast turkey supper with trimmings and dessert was on the menu. Nice to have Evelyn Harlton here on her birthday and Ferg Devins will celebrate his 89th birthday on November 24. Also heard that Marie and Larry Neilson had a wedding anniversary this week.
Just a note to keep in mind – after this Ace is found, the price of a strip of tickets for the “Chase the Ace” draw will be going up to $2.
At our General Meeting on November 20, our Nominating Committee put forth the following list: President – Bob Aussant, Bob Balbar; 1st Vice President – Sam Phillips; 2nd Vice President – Mark Gillis; Secretary – Kathy Nylund; Treasurer – Don Smith; Executive-at-Large – Lee Johnson, Darrin Janz, Sam Matiowsky, Perry Van De Kerckhove, Gale Collinson. Now these are just suggestions. Any of these people can say No at our meeting in December. Nominations will be taken from the floor on December 18. So, if you know of others who would be willing to be on our Executive, bring them out and nominate them so that we can be sure of having a full Executive for 2019.
